lilo/install/laptop problems

I am having problems with my install on a thinkpad 755C. everything
seems to go well during the Install including loading of all the
packages etc. I get asked where i want to put my bootable partition
and I select hda1 / root partition.. I've also tried floppy etc. I
do have to add one line in the install which is floppy=thinkpad, but
i would think my system should still boot. But it does not boot. I
get the LI and that is it of the lilo prompt, then i hang.. my
floppy drive light seems to be on, but that shouldn't matter. Does
anyone know how i could go about resolving this problem?
