I have been unable to make my printer work. When I finally broke down
and read the Printing HOWTO (9/10/96), it told me that I ought to be able to
find the device "lp" in the output of "cat /proc/devices".
In fact, "lp" is not in the list. I had done an "everything" install of
4.0, and assumed that that included the printer. What can I do about it?
(I actually tried reinstalling from scratch. Nothing changed.)
(I have a Panasonic KX-P5400 ps parallel-port printer and a 486-dx33 with
20 meg system.)
Any advice will be appreciated.
