What Lance is looking for is what I've seen called ``ballistic''
speed control.  Move slowly, and the mickeys to pixel ratio is low.
Move fast, and the ratio increases (less mickeys per pixel).

That way, you have good control for precision movements, but can send the
mouse to the other side of the screen with a quick wrist-flick.
