you need to remove all your modules under /lib/modules/2.0.18 ; make 
modules_install will install the ones you enabled support for, and only those 
ones. The same happened to me. I disabled support for scsi modules but they 
were still in /lib/modules so depmod would complain at bootup... i think this 
should solve your pb.
