2 computers both running redhat 3.0.3, are connected via a serial
cable. (cua3 and cua2)
computer A is connected to the Internet via a leased line,
computer B logs in to A via PPP (win3.11 or terminal dos),
the serial port on A has getty enabled.
when computer B boots to linux, I'm unable to get to the login
prompt of computer A, (dip -t doesn't give me the 'login'), while
everything works fine under dos/win.
questions: does dip work on serial cables ?
anyone else has this 'poor students network' working ?
I would like to keep the login prompt so you can use computer B
as a 'plain terminal'.
Thanks.
