Aargh. No, I was mistaking this for an option in another program.

What about the nodirs option in your upload directive?
Check out the archives of the wu-ftpd mailinglist. It's a known problem
and I've played with it before but the directives are pretty messy at
times. Try varying with dirs and nodirs and watch for stuff like /pathname
instead of pathname in the upload directive. That made a difference as
well.
