Another story:
Cheap Sound card. Audio Excel or so. Nice thing: Installing the drivers
(OK they are 16bit, but M$ CLAIMS Win 3.11 compability!), and Win 95
detects a hardware conflict. It suggests to startup the Hardware Wizard.
The Wizard resolves the problem, but in doin so finds another one:
sarcascm("It SURELY doesn't make sense to SCSI and EIDE discs in ONE
computer.").
So what does it do? It disables its SCSI and IDE drivers. (OK, the system
continues to run via BIOS disk access. SLOWLY :( )
Oh, the only way I've found to reenable 32-bit access after playing for
two days with this darn thing: Reinstall from scratch :)

YOU. The same more or less applies to ME and LINUX.

Oh. NT: NT (I believe even the Golden Release or so) let's you create
in the Installer more partitions, than it can read when booting.
Nasty bug, AND it's already in the installer. (Not really funny to find
out how many partitions NT can boot with when you have to do it the hard
way with trial and error.) The solution: Buy another 1GB HDD for Linux
and live 1GB free on the first one.

But then, you have been looking at it wrongly. You should perhaps have
looked into compiling a new kernel, as this is the BASIC driver
configuration for Linux.

Yep. But they are a company, so they could easily have put it this

And nope, the claim, that it works in DOS is not enough, as there is
badly setup hardware, that may work with DOS, (as a disc controller
without a valid IRQ assigned? BIOS doesn't really care :( ), but
not with a real OS.
Oh, don't forget: RH backups its product with a money-back garantue, so
where is your problem? I didn't get Win95 with a money-back garantue
