I have CND 1.0 RiskyHacked to 2.0.23 kernel, RPM updated to 2.2.9 via
CPIO. I just loaded the postgres95 RPM and am trying to setup a database.
I can su to the postgres user, I can initdb or cleardbdir, but when I try
to create a user via createuser, I get the following error:
database access failed
I am starting the postmaster server with:
postmaster -d 9 >& pm.log & <-- very verbose logging....
Pm.log contains:
FindBackend: found "/usr/bin/postgres" using PATH
binding ShmemCreateKey....
postmaster: ServerLoop: ...
....
be_recvauth: host-based authentication failed
postmaster: ConnStartup: authentication failed
I am not using kerberos or any other type of authentication. This is on
a private network so authentication is not necessary. I have tried
-a noauth, -a nokerberos, etc. and still get the same message. I have
tried on two machines (with similar configurations).
Thanks,

Use LINUX -- It works.... Win95 Crashes....
MickySoft should rename Start to Crash per truth in advertising laws.
Where do you want to CRASH today?
