128MB and Swap, FTP group permissions

Two things here-
With the P Pro with 128MB RAM and 100MB swap, look at the output of free.
No WONDER it's not using swap- you've got way too much memory there. You
may only have 2MB "free", but you do have 60MB used for disk cache,
buffers, and so on. Linux dynamically changes the size of the disk cache
to use up most available memory, so if you run low on "free" memory it
simply moves the memory back into the memory pool. So as long as you have
60MB in the disk cache, you won't swap until it gets down to just a couple
of MB.
As for setting up a group for FTP maintainers, the idea of creating a
group is a good one. Don't call it FTP, though- that's in use already,
call it ftpmaint or something. Also keep in mind that any member of the
group will be able to give anyone else access to that group just by
creating a shell script and making it setgid to that group.
