Following up on my own post after compiling and debugging sendmail under
redhat-4.0.
(works like a charm but I needed to remove -lresolv from the linux
makefile)

It is incorrect! Correct syntax is:
sendmail -qRFOOBAR
The syntax I used was found in an older manual page.
Still, sendmail should not dump core.
