Just wanted to report a successful "upgrade". I downloaded the semi-official
RPMs (i.e., not the contrib RPMs). Since I'd heard that the 100dpi fonts
were the same, I haven't bothered with the fonts yet.

I uninstalled 3.1, except for the fonts. Then started with the libs,
then the main package, then my server, then the VGA16 server (for XFSetup),
xinitrc, etc. No problems running off the old font RPM.

Only snag so far -- there used to be a symlink from /usr/include/X11 to
/usr/X11R6/include/X11/ that I had to make by hand as I had bee referencing
a few things that way (it's shorter). Oh, and the XFSetup was wanting
the tcl/tk libs to be installed, and they are, but rpm still complained.
--nodeps did the trick.

XFSetup is nice, although it didn't generate a XF86Config that was
immediately usable. No big deal, I copied a few things in manually from
the new one to my old one & and I was off & running.

Thanks to all who put the packages together. I was running on a beta
server and now I don't have to worry about a drop-dead date.
