Dave,

This thread is not going anywhere. WHERE ARE YOUR QUESTIONS???

Look, if you need help, describe the problems in detail, with as much juice
as possible. You've now got everyone's attention and seemingly divided the
group into several camps. But to keep on going on seems not too useful.
Actually this thread reminds me of a similar useless thread talking up the
reason for the name RedHat (it's a secret!). __Big deal!__ :)

If you want to give up, then give up. But I think you would have done that
already if you didn't want Linux to work for you. So, get on with the
questions. I have reviewed several days worth of this list and can't seem to
find your questions. There are alot, so it is easy to get lost in the haze
if you are either not clear on your questions and problems or only post once
every blue moon and let it go at that. If a question persists people look!

>Well I have posted my problems and questions 5 times in the last week
>on this board and I have also sent in upwards to 10-15 messages over
>the last 50 days BEGGING and PLEEDING for answers.
Begging and pleeding are good. :) But don't forget to state your problem
along with the whining...

Read the instructions, print out the HOW-TOs, ect. The literature is _very_
informative. Educate yourself. As stated before therre is more documentation
for Linux than practically any other OS. If you are new to Linux then
consider: With any new OS, there is alot to learn.
KNOW THYSELF! Read the instructions.

If that doesn't work, then try emailing this list 10 - 15 per week! ;) if
you don't get your answers. I personally love the product and have had no
major problems with the setup of the OS itself as I read the lit first. The
only problems I have are with the obscure and newly supported hardware that
differs from other Unixes. I have found the support to be community based
and HIGH QUALITY. The people are friendly and generally have GOOD advice.
Better than my eperiences with MANY other OSes. Have you tried to even reach
tech support for Windoze95???

>Everytime I have posted here I have waited for days looking to see if
>someone would reply, even a RH employee, NADDA!!
>
RH pays for this group, as has been noted. Don't depend on asking RH,a
_very_ small company with only a few employees, to answer what a whole
community is into supporting. WE ARE ALL HERE TO HELP EACH OTHER!!! :)

>Also I paid Redhat 50 bucks.
That's a bad deal??? How much is Win95? Did you get support for that? How
much free docs are available for that?

I though the $50 was for the CD printing costs and dev time, then a bit of
support. You got a book too, right? How much do you make after publishing
costs and stuff? If you want a bad experience with HELP, try another Unix
(SCO or any other). FREEBSD is definately not better, either.
