The only problem I've found with /tmp on the root file system is that if
you use INND, the expire process creates some large intermediate files here.
If it runs out of room it fails, but not in a very "failed, because..." manner.
This is with a home-brew setup of 40 groups on a 200Mb partition, mainly used
to allow me to view mail-lists as newsgroups. As this setup is probably not
very typical few people will find this a problem.
