Well this morning when I sent a message about having trouble getting redhat
4 to recognize my ne2000 card I did get some nice answers. Tried twice to do
a make config and both times after about ten screens of errors concerning
unresolved sysbols in module and insmod failures, but the nic card worked!
From both modularized and monolithic makes I decided I had better try the
/etc/conf.modules. But now with an alias line eth0 ne2000 and an options
line ne2000 io=0x340 irq=11 I get a modprobe error and it wont init the
card. I don't think I am going to have much luck convincing a customer that
all the bells and whistles in redhat xwindows could justify buying a new
network card for all his systems as well as redhat4. Any hints 12hrs later?
