I just installed RH 4 last night with my AHA1542CF isa card and it works
great...
At the LILO prompt when you boot, trow this in:
LILO: linux aha1542=0x330 buslogic=0x334

Assuming that your Adaptec card is on 330. And leave the buslogic=0x334 no
matter what your adaptec card is set to...
I found this on the Redhat WWW site... after looking for a day or two...
If you want it to autoprobe this card during a new installation do what i
said above and it should work also.
When you boot up you will still get the message:
SCSI: 0 Adapters
SCSI: Dectected Total
Mine still does this even though I am booting off of a hard drive that is
connected to this scsi card!
good luck, and I screwed with this for about a week so if you need any help
(With the adaptec part) lemmi know...
