[registration #619141] "sendmail" pauses upon Linux startup

After installing RedHat/Intel 4.0, "sendmail" always pauses for a
minute or so every time my Linux starts up. I'm not connected to the net.
Is this a bug in 4.0 or is because "sendmail" doesn't understand my "localhost".
If it's the latter, could you tell me how to disable "sendmail" (by changing
the run-level??)? Thanks in advance. . .
