I am not sure if this made it to the list the first time since my workstation
had some problems with sendmail last night, so I am roposting it.

I'm trying to install RH 4.0. I've come across a problem. After going
through nearly all of the installation, I cannot get LILO to install.
Here is what I have done:

At the window which asks where I would like to install LILO:

choose to install LILO to the MBR on hda.

The next window that pops up says that the install of LILO failed. It
asks if I want to retry. Then I retry and the retrial fails. Then I
check the VC5 and see an error message which states:

Must specify LOADER for BIOS device 0x81.

This error message is printed for the initial lilo installation trial and
for each retrial.

Does anybody know what may have gone wrong?

I have two hard drives--one is on hda (EIDE, Western Digital, 1.6 GB), it is
the
first drive. A second drive is on hdb (IDE, Conner, 270 MB). I have an
Award BIOS.

Todd
