I posted a question on Pam List regarding samba and redhat 4.0..

I was informed that Red Hat comes with pam-aware programs..

so.. my question is.. did redhat reengineer the system libraries to utilize the
pam libraries in authentication calls? or are the binaries made pam aware by
compilation of the pam code into them?

I constantly update my software to provide for the latest feature sets
available in them. (I am anxiously awaiting when samba will be able to do
domain authentication for NT clients :)

However, this will of course require a compilation of samba, how will i at that
time be able to work the pam software into it?

Thanx

Tom
