I don't know.
I only recently started using RedHat. I'm used to picking and choosing
things and piece-ing together stuff 'cause I used to use Slakware.
For example, I'm still using 3.0.3 and upgrading various chunks of it
as I become more skilled at dealing with it.
I'm running Kernel 2.0.25 on 3.0.3 and things are actually working.
I don't know for sure if everything is working properly, but everything
I use is working fine. (as far as I know)
There is no doubt that you can rebuild the kernel and make it go that way.
Does that help ?
Support for the Adaptec 2940 is probably available in RedHat 4.0, but I
don't know if they did it the old way where you had to find it, then make
your own boot disks, or what.
