From: "Todd Hutchinson" <hutch@hummock.colorado.edu> Date: Tue, 19 Nov 1996 09:01:49 -0700 To: redhat-list@redhat.com Resent-From: redhat-list@redhat.com Reply-To: redhat-list@redhat.com I am having a problem returning to text mode after exiting XFree86. Upon exiting X, text mode begins, but the screen is full of white and black pixels. I can see a difference in the pixels where the text should be. This only happens after exiting X if I am using X in 16 bit mode. Everything works ok when I use X in 8 bit mode (24 bit mode for my graphics card is not supported by XFree86). Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong? I was unable to find anything that seemed to be related in the XFree86 FAQs and documentation. Here's my configuration: Trident 9680 2MB graphics card XFree86 3.2 (taken from the RedHat devel directory) XFree86 SVGA driver from XFree86 3.2 XFree86 3.1.2 Fonts Window Manager: The Next Level (i.e., fvwm2) Thanks.
