That's a very good point, and is discussed in the FIPS docs. While FIPS is
great for "hacking off" a partition for linux or whatever, it is most
definitely *not* a good way to create secondary (much less tertiary) FAT
(i.e. DOS/Win) partitions, becuase it uses the same cluster size as the
original. There are good reasons for this (see the docs), but you end up
wasting space on all your FAT volumes. But if you're just aputating
DOS/Win space, it's ok. Linux' will will be done on the new partition.
Yes, there is more relative "wasted" space on the truncated DOS/Win
partition (based on it's new, smaller size) but no more in absolute bytes
than was wasted on the original, larger partition. Anyone considering
FIPS should understand this, and it is coved in the docs.
