When you see the Adaptec BIOS banner come up during the boot sequence,
press CNTR-A. This will get you into the BIOS. DOS has a
528MB/1024Cylinder limit when addressing large drives. If you go into
the Adaptec BIOS an enable "Translation for drives >1GB" that should
take care of the problem. If memory servers me correct, it is only
enabled, by default, on the new 1542CP controllers. You will have to
enable it on the 1542CF.
