rsh Permissions in Colgate, and NFS question

I'm sure this has been addressed before, but after wading through the
archives, I still didn't have anything that worked.
I'm trying to do "rsh" operations across our network (mainly comprised of
Suns running SunOS 4.x) to my RedHat 4.0 machine. I can do rsh
operations to the Sun's, but not from the Sun's into my machine.
Also, I just hacked my way through setting up my machine as an NFS
server. If anyone has any comments on anything _bad_ I might have done
(in hosts.allow), I'd listen.
My machine configuration: (hostname: borabora, Sun name: dollar):
borabora:/etc/hosts.allow {redundant things in here???}
----------------------------
ALL: LOCAL
ALL: mydomain.com
portmap: x.y.z.0/255.255.255.0 {x.y.z.0 is our appropriate network address}
borabora:/etc/exports
-----------------------------
/home/mikeb *.mydomain.com(ro,link_relative)
borabora:/.rhosts {is this used anymore for rsh operations?}
--------------------------------
dollar
dollar.mydomain.com
x.y.z.100 {dollar's IP address}
Now, when I try:
dollar% rsh borabora ls
Permission denied.
I get this in borabora:/var/log/secure:
borabora in.rlogind[11061]: warning: /etc/hosts.allow, line 1: can't
verify hostname: gethostbyname(dollar.mydomain.com) failed
Right now, we are only running NIS/YP (no DNS), but I have dollar's IP in
my /etc/hosts file, and it is also available through YP.
What else needs to be configured to make remote operations work?
