My Linux crashes when running applications on remote host

Hi there,
Is there anybody who can help me on this.
I have a 3.0.3 Redhat with kernel 1.2.13 on my Pentium with 16M, 32k Swap,
S3 video card and PCI Ethernet card. When i am connected to a host (SUN OS),
i can run all application except
those ones such as Frame Maker, Netscape, etc, which are quite graphical
oriented. At first, these applications run well but after a while working with,
my system crashes and usually i get some some junks on my screen and i have
to reboot. I don't have any problem running other applications such as Matlab,
Ghostview, editors, etc.
