No support for Adaptec 1510 SCSI?

After testing out my Redhat 4.0 on an old 386 with an old Adaptec 1542b card
I'm now attempting to install on a 486 system with an IDE drive and a
supplementary Adaptec 1510A card for CD-ROM. Redhat doesn't include support
for this card in the installation program and my old 1542b doesn't run on my
486 so I can't use it (I've already tried several times).

Is there a fix other than having to chuck a perfectly adequate SCSI adapter?

Thanks, Gene
