fetchmail author told me that the version 1.9.4 (the rpm in the
contrib) has a bug that has been fixed in the latest. So,
go get the tar.gz source from the author's homepage. I did
that. It got built very easily (but I had to download
and install the flex rpm from RH 4.0). It is working
without mysteriously dieing.
