I've heard the story... I was jsut teasing.
As for which is better, well.. the one that runs on Linux, of course.
Actually, it doesn't have to run on Linux... just something that
doesn't crash every 20 minutes.

I meant convincing for other people, of course.
I didn't manage to find the sales numbers, but I will ask. I imagine
it would be somewhat difficult to come up with a precise number, since
all the Unix versions are sold on the same CD... but I'll try to find
out.
I will admit, at Wolfram the Linux version wasn't entirely driven by
market forces... it was just the chosen platform to move development
from those old slow NeXTs. I'm sure that choice had a lot to do with
being in a campus town, where Linux is quite popular.

I'd imagine that the port wouldn't be -too- horrible.
Gee, that just happened to me, too... at least it's only a couple
hours on a sunday morning.

Ahhh, yes that can be quite a problem. Though, I'd imagine it has to
happen sometime, right? Unless Bentley plans to fade into oblivion
when all those 32 bit processors disappear. (addmitely, that will bea
while yet)
