INN news messages not appearing in spool...

sounds like you've got the wrong permissions. this sounds like INN is
incorrectly configured.
perhaps clearer error messages would give us more of a clue.
Can you post news articles correctly (as a user) into you news spool using
INN/NNTPD ?
The example suck scripts seem to work quite well, though I've modified mine
to work at night without the computer being attended.
I'd check that suck is downloading the files, and sticking them in a
subdirectory Msgs. Suck should be made to post the messages using innxmit
and thus does NOT directly write to the news spool. Maybe you are getting
confused with this.
If you want to know my configuration files, (for both suck-3.3.1 and INN)
I could send them to you. But check INN configuration first, especially
owners of files and directories. check you can post locally to the groups
you want to see, and then afterwards check that suck does indeed download,
and then post. finally check the uploading back to you ISP's newserver
works, as this in practice generates very little traffic.
