I did something like that last night. I installed Colgate on a new
portable system and didn't have the floppies handy, but Winblows95
was preinstalled on the HD. I "shutdown" '95 into dos mode and
ran the d:/dosutils/autoboot.bat program from the CD. When it
asked if I needed PCMCIA I said no so that the install scripts
wouldn't ask for the PCMCIA floppy. I then repartitioned the
drive to remove '95 as part of the install process.
The install went great. If you don't have a form of bootable
dos on the system you might be able to install a minimal DOS
system if you have any DOS disks around.
