The IBM processors are supposedly exactly the same as the Cyrix
processors. However, if you try the Cyrix-patch that has been floating
around the kernel mailing list (And I think this is is in 2.1.x too
maybe), it does not work with teh IBM processors. It says something
about the registry not matching.. Apparently they have the registry set
differently on the IBM processors from the factory than the Cyrix. If I
knew more about the registry numbers I could figure it out, but playing
with the registry of the processor scares me :)... You never know what
might happen :). If anyone is interested enough, I would be willing to
run get6x86 on registry locations and send results to them so they can
see (I have a IBM 6x86 p150+).
