Michael, many thanks for your help. Having noticed that the original
rpm had not ben deleted, I first deleted it and then removed the
ghostscript-fonts-4.0-3.i386.rpm also and replaced it with
ghostscript-fonts-4.0-2.i386.rpm as recommended in errata.
All is now well.=20
The problem was my not being used to control-panel/package management
as well as a broken font set.
Incidentally, printtool gave me only blank sheets....
I'll stick with apsfilter;-)=20
