I'm not even going to try and answer these questions here.  I'd go read
the RPM HOWTO for help on uninstalling packages.  As for paths and
kernels and the thousands of other quesions that all us newbies have,
get a book.  I'm assuming that your mostly interested in learning Linux
and so I'll suggest what most people will recommend to you:  Running
Linux by Matt Welsh and Lar Kaufman, published by O'Reilly & Associates,
Inc.  Get the second edition, it cost me $29.95 at a local bookstore but
you can get it for less at other discount places on the web.  It's not
Red Hat specific, but it is very complete and has the answers to all of
your general Linux questions.  Reading the HOWTO's will help with more
specific questions.
