Some weeks ago, I attempted to upgrade from RH 3.0.3 (which with its various
upgrades, has been a very productive tool) to RH 4.0 ... my initial attempt was
a disaster, with all sorts of things like my network card (3c509) not coming
up, and ending up after a couple of reboots, not finding the fstab file,
perhaps after overwriting itself...
So, I went back to 3.0.3; now I would like to try again (foolish man :^0 )
But I would like to not replicate the first event, nor produce a similar one.
The first time, I used the boot floppy that came with 4.0, and selected the
upgrade (as opposed to install) option.
Has anyone had this or something like it happen, and get beyond it?
Has anyone tried just putting the 4.0 CDROM in, and using the glint package
manager to "upgrade"?
As always, all help appreciated.
