Greetings,

Background:

Recently I bought and installed a Buslogic 948. I downloaded the kernel
patch code and the Buslogic SCSI driver code as well. I ran patch and attempted
to re-compile the kernel (following the howto document). I was unable to
compile due to errors. This is the 3.0.3 version of Red Hat.
I haven't yet, but plan on downloading the latest firmware for the tape drive
mentioned below.

Question:

Does the 4.0 kernel support the Buslogic 948 "out of the box", or do I need
to get the Buslogic driver and build it into the kernel?

Another question:

I'm going to be connecting a SCSI disk and HP/Colorado T4000 tape drive to
the card. I figure the disk will be supported, but is the tape drive going
to be automagically recognized and accessible, or do I need to get some
other special driver for the tape?

As always thanks for the help. Furthermore, with all the traffic lately,
thanks for even LOOKING at this message :-)

Chip
