Well I got the RH 4.0 CDROM Friday, took the plunge.
I upgraded CND 1.0 & RH 3.0.3 to:

Caldera Network Desktop - release 1.0
Red Hat Linux - release 4.0 (Colgate)
Kernel 2.0.25 on a i586

YES! Backup your ENTIRE /etc directory for sure!
It overwrote somethings, and saved somethings as xxx.rpmsave.
But w/ a backup, I have things the way I want them.

Good luck !
