VM in Xemacs: INBOX.CRASH

I apologize as this is not directly a RH-related q. If you can give me a 
tip on this matter, you may want to e-mail privately.

I'd like to use VM under Xemacs to read/write mail, but I can only even 
open my box if I'm root. As a different user, I get a weird windows 
titled "INBOX.CRASH" and an error msg about movemail (or movemail.c). 
What does it mean?

None of the (rather skimpy) VM info docs says anything about this (nor do 
they say anything about handling POP3 with VM, but that's yet another 
story). BTW, I run RH 3.0.3 with krnl 2.0.24.
