install questions (X and disk mount points)

Well guys, just got thru installing RH4.0 and I have a few
questions.

1. X would not start. It could not find the server. X in
/usr/X11R6/bin was linked back to /etc/X11/X, which did not
exist. In order to get it to run I had to link
/usr/X11R6/bin/X to /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86-SVGA. Is this where
the link is supposed to be, and why was this not made during
installation?

2. Why was no default configuration created during
installation? I had to copy my previous XF86Config from my
dos partition where I had saved it to /etc/X11/XF86Config to
get X to work. I assume that this is still the right place
for the config file?

3. During the install I told redhat that I wanted to mount my
dos partition at /mnt/dosc. A fstab entry was made for this,
but the mount directory /mnt/dosc was not created. Also,
there was no fstab entry or mount point for the cdrom. What
happened and why was this not done during the install?
