you are overreacting here.  The squeeky wheel gets the grease.  You do 
nothear all the GOOD things that happen, just the complaints.

There are a few updates to apply, but other than that there are no major 
problems that would warrant changing distributions.  Some of teh fixes 
are security, some are bugs...

4.0 is great, and if you pass up on it, you are fool to change to another 
distribution.
