Because "make dep" takes about 1 minute and it's easy
to just sit and watch.

But "make zImage" or "make zlilo" (I don't make
zImages) takes about 20 minutes on P66 and several
hours on 486DX20. Can I do:

make zlilo 1> ./compile_log 2> ./compile_errors &

? Just thought I'd ask firt before I start messing
with it and find no log (if it doesn't work) after
hours of compiling. It would be nice to just go
through ./compile_errors and check if there were
any errors.

Any stdout/stderr gurus?
