I think the only alternative currently is to edit the following files by
hand:
/etc/sysconfig/network
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-*

But be careful, as these files are supposed to be automatically generated.

The strange thing is that Red Hat has a fairly nice text-based setup
during the install (although is won't let you do advanced stuff, it will
do as much as the Slackware netconfig).  But this only seems to be
available during the install.  No one bothered to make a separate
text-based utility.
