you might check your bios settings to make sure they are set proper
for your hard disk, however large it might be. You might, if you can,
try start the install, and use the root disk to mount your hard drive
and try and rewrite the LILO boot sector, in either MBR or the superblock
whichever you installed it on. I had a similar problem on my machine for
a while since I had a 1.275 gig hd, I disabled 32 bit transfer mode in my
bios, and enabled LBA if I remember correctly. I think also, something
about the ftp install has always hosed lilo, you might try and make sure
you have the newest boot and suppliment disk images.
