Apparently the newest version of sendmail can do this, but don't quote me
on this. Otherwise a mailer called Exim will help you. We moved to it
after somebody decided to hardcode our main mail server into a widely
available spam mailer.

It works excellently. It allows you to setup access lists of varying
degrees, is incredibly flexible, fast and powerful. It is extremely good
in applications such as primary mx for a large domain, such as an ISP.

Cheers
Daniel
