Netscape problem in 4.0

When I was running 3.0.3 I had a backspace problem in Netscape. The 
problem was solved by putting this --> xmodmap -e "keycode 22 = BackSpace"
in the .xsession file. Now since I have upgraded to 4.0 neither the 
backspace, delete or any of the "arrow" keys work when I fire up 
Netscape, also "top" doesn't work while in X. Thanks for your help in 
advance.
