I am running 3.0.3 upgraded to Linux 2.0.21. I had thought I had the
networking config files correct. However, I have discovered that running
hostname (v 1.5) with -d, -f and -s outputs "can't find a FQDN for the host
name `qtpi.lakewood.ca.us'". I "thought" I had followed Red Hats control-
panel and the HOWTO's. Evidently I have not.
My /etc/HOSTNAME contains:
qtpi.lakewood.ca.us # I had thought this would be "qtpi"
My /etc/resolv.conf contains:
domain starlinknet.net # My ISP's domain
nameserver 206.117.228.9 # My ISP's primary nameserver
nameserver 206.117.228.7 # My ISP's secondary nameserver
My /etc/sysconfig/network contains:
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=qtpi.lakewood.ca.us # Should be qtpi??
Can anyone please help this confused and frustrated newbie out? Pretty
please? With sugar?
Thanks in advance.
Bob
