I use the above command with an Exabyte 8200, and it always works for me.
I have scsi tape support included in the kernel, rather than added as a module.
Is the Exabyte tape drive recognized by the scsi driver (cat /proc/scsi/scsi
to see)?
Is there a tape loaded in the drive?
Are you running as root? If not, do you have permission to use /dev/st0?
