You do have the Motif shared RPMS?

You shouldn't do that- it's /usr/local/java. There isn't a /home/usr/,
so the JDK is perfectly right.
| Also, in the make xconfig menu, the line for compiling Java
| support into the kernel is grayed out and hence unavailable.
So do make config instead.
