I have 5 machines using that same adapter, and I've never had any trouble
compiling a kernel to recognize it.. I've used modules too, and they
both work, completely unproblematic..
The only problem I've ever had, is SCSI timeout errors, but that was related
to me not copying a v. 2.0.23 System.map to /boot, and still using the 2.0.10
System.map.. Copying that file fixed it.. (for obvious reasons)..
