hello

I installed the old redhat-3.0.3 in several linux boxes having 3 Com509
network cards...
during the installation I wasn't able to configure the cards, because the
system didn't recognize it...

anyway after the installation I changed several files in /etc:

hosts
host.conf
/etc/sysconfig/network
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts

and recompiled the kernel version 2.0.0

well after the changes I rebooted the machine .... the card is now
recognized as eth0 etc etc... but

there is always a but, I cant ping any machine besides mine... and made
ifconfig eth0 and got the following message:

eth0 Link encap:10Mbps Ethernet HWaddr 00:20:AF:C9:9c:53
         inet addr:193.137.216.300 Bcast:193.137.216.255
Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BRADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
         RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
         TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
         Interrupt:10 Base address:0x300

what does this means? could anyone please help me about this?

  thanks

  miguel
