I have the same setup on a machine and found it necessary to make the
3c509 support *not* a module before recompiling the kernel. Both 3c509
cards were then immediately visible. You also must disable PnP via the
3Com DOS diskette (3c5x9cfg.exe??) and set the IRQ, IO address, etc.
