Can anyone help me out with the following problems
I downloaded all of the RPMS from redhat 4.0 and the udpates
into /RedHat/RMPS (replacing the replaced versions). Put the
the base and instimage into /RedHat/base and /Redhat/instimage.
Located and used the updtes/../boot.img and supp.img
Root is /dev/hdb1
Swap is /dev/hdb2
RPMS is /dev/hdc1
But I kept getting the following errors
1. If I selected Upgrade, a mount error or resource in use
was reported
2. If I selected Install and allowed the install to
(re)-format the /dev/hdb1 drive the same error was reported.
I successfuly got through most of the install by rebooting and skipping
the format step (since) it was done already.
On to the next phase of errors. When installing XFree86, I gev the
install program the wrong memory size, and it then gave an error
on the -probeonly and skipped to the next screen.
(Err, any reason SuperProbe is not used at this point? Is it reiskier
than -probeonly?)
I had not selected TheNextLevel, and the default inti/rc files
for the user *default* to TheNextLevel, making X11 a little
unusable. Perhaps a better set of defaults?
Could some point me at /bin/view. Under RedHat 3.0.3 this was
included in the vim RMP , under 4.0 this is nowhere to be found.
buglet?
I'm still not fully installed, I'm trying out fvwm-95 and the
Module selections from the default menu seem to be doing nothing.
Thank god, that I did this on my testbed machine. Otherwise, I'd
be out of the water, on my production box.
